Welcome to Luke 3:11 Apparel!
I am beyond ecstatic to introduce Luke 3:11 Apparel to the world! Luke 3:11 Apparel is founded on the Bible verse Luke 3:11 which says, "John replied, 'If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.'" For every shirt purchased - a shirt will be given to someone in need; and a portion of each sale is donated to feed the hungry. I founded the company back in 2015, officially registered it as a company in 2017, and here we are in 2021 letting the world join in on our mission to LOVE + CLOTHE + FEED.
I went back and forth about what I should write about in my very first blog. I really wanted to give the whole story and all the amazingly orchestrated details of the journey God had me on while following His voice step by step in starting and building Luke 3:11 Apparel these last 6 ½ years, but I will have to save that story for later because God had different plans. After praying about what I should write, I only heard one word loud and clear – LOVE. Having grown familiar to my Father’s voice, I am quick to be obedient to what He says to do because I know the blessing that is on the other side of obedience – for both me and others who might be affected by my obedience. So here I am following His voice once again.
Love is so powerful – it is truly the only thing that can change the world. It also just so happens to be the first word in our mission statement to LOVE + CLOTHE + FEED. It says in 1 John 4:8 that God is love. It goes on to say in 1 John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:11 says “If God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
Wow – so the first miracle is just that someone could love a world like this one. He loves us in our mess. He loves us just as we are. Nothing could change His love for us. He loves us so fiercely that he sent His own son to die for us on the cross, so that we could be reconciled to Him for all of eternity.
The next miracle is that He gave us this love not so we could just keep it to ourselves, but so that we could share it with the world. Yes – the world that is sometimes so hard to love. The world that has so much division, hurt, and chaos. Love is so powerful – it can take division and bring it into unity, it can turn hurt into healing, and it can take chaos and bring it into order and harmony. God is love and when we bring His word to this world who so desperately needs it, He transforms hearts and brings radical change.
You know, love is like dominoes. It just takes one domino to knock the whole bunch down. It just takes one person whose heart is set ablaze with love to blaze the whole trail. I pray that my heart is set ablaze with His love as Luke 3:11 Apparel goes into this world to love the lost, clothe the poor and feed the hungry. I pray that His love will go forth and set captives free. He is a Father to the fatherless and a protector of widows. He fills every void that any person might have. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. His love created the world, and through His love He has saved the world. We love because He first loved us.
Luke 3:11 Apparel’s mission to LOVE + CLOTHE + FEED can really be summed up into one word – Love. His love is in all and through all. We can’t wait to set the world ablaze with His radical love. We know that through our mission to LOVE + CLOTHE + FEED and through our giving back, we can help change the world. So I just want to say a big THANK YOU for helping in our mission! Every shirt purchased represents the Good News being shared, the poor being clothed and the hungry being fed.
